Whenever I go to my primary doctor to get a physical, she instructs me to make sure that I don’t eat anything before the appointment. Why? Because she wants to get my “fasting blood sugar level” and other readings for my physical without the influence of food. Although she doesn’t want me to eat right before the test, the things I’ve been eating on the daily basis will give her the results/reading of my health!
This is true for both the natural and spiritual! The things I eat in the spirit can change the state of my spiritual body! So what do we need to eat in the spirit?
“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
“And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.”
“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”John 6:35, Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4
Jesus is the BREAD OF LIFE, He is the Word of God……and although we need food to live, we don’t live by food alone but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God! Our daily bread is important to our health, let us be found healthy in Jesus name. Amen.
I love y’all! ~DeHonee (Matthew 22:39) ❤
P.S. This study is so good that I had to choose what topic to focus on and which scriptures to keep in this blog to keep it short and sweet…but when you get a chance check these few out as well: Isaiah 55:1-2, Matthew 6:11/31-33, Job 23:12, Matthew 5:6.
Bonus Convo: Last night my pastor talked about his role in our lives, as commissioned by scripture, to feed us. Take a look:
“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
“So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.”Jeremiah 3:15, Acts 20:28, and John 21:15-17
It is a pastor’s job to feed God’s people. What are they supposed to feed the people? The Bread Of Life/The Word of God.
This blog can be 50 pages because we could talk about committing our health to God in the natural and spiritual, how we can become obese in the spirit with what this world has to offer in entertainment and false prophets, how it is important to have a pastor after God’s own heart and more but I’ll stop right here. I encourage you to study this trail of eating, thirsting, being fed, the Bread Of Life, and more….it is so good! I hope you are blessed by it 🙂
